Pushing Through the Pain

Pushing through the pain

We all face challenges, almost every day, yet finding the key to continue through our hardships may be difficult at times...it defines who we are when we make it through our situation.

Many of you have heard the saying "No Pain, No Gain", yet how true is this statement?  Believe it or not it is based on perception.  Some feel it is a nonsense statement with flaws. For example, if you exercise too hard and pull a tendon or break a bone...is all that suffering worth it? Some might say no it isn't.

On the other hand, there are people who develop serious heart conditions, by enduring long term exposure to a harsh environments and a tenacity to achieve their goals. If you ask them, is it worth the training and struggles they endure. Their answer would be yes.

There is an 3rd alternative, having a trainer, gradually bringing you to your goals at a pace that is challenging but not too difficult so you can keep up. Most successful people choose this option due to the higher chance for advancement towards their objective.

They achieve this by hiring or learning from others, as well as researching to discover their potential. All learning requires some sort of effort; otherwise it wouldn't be learning.

The last option is what I want to discuss more about. Everyone has an idea of what success looks like...but do they really?

Success means different thing to different people according to their comfort  zone. So before we begin our journey towards our goal, we must first have a vivid picture of what we want to accomplish. Having a clear picture of where you want to go, depends on what kind of pain you must endure to get there.

I touched a little about this on Mastery "in creating your own path."  To get from point A to Point X, we all must endure struggles, failures, and successes to get there.  The key is to continuously pursue your journey, wherever it leads.

The point I am getting at is that it requires dedication and perseverance.  These are the analogies with the saying of "No Pain, No Gain".

The bottom line is we all have our comfort zones on how hard we push ourselves.  So, "Pushing through the pain", is not about breaking world records, but breaking your record on overcoming your fears, and insecurities of who you think you are, or want to be.

I am not saying to not strive to breaking world records, I am saying we need to take the first step by understanding who we are and what obstacles we must overcome.

I have many goals that I am constantly pursuing, some simple and others are life long challenges. Yet, the most important aspect is to write them down, review them frequently and continue to work towards them.

One of my major goals, is waking up and helping people be the best they can be.  Do I always succeed, NO, but I attempt to keep motivated to continue towards my dreams.

This post is more about finding out who you are and what you want to accomplish; I'm just letting you know it takes sacrifices and pain to endure to get the satisfaction and gains you deserve.

Prayers,

 Mandie
