Protecting "OUR" Kids
When it come to protecting our children, most of us would fight tooth and nail and then some. I know, I do my best to protect my children.
When people talk about their children, it is usually how smart they are or how talented they are or what their interests are. As parents we typically are biased about how well we raise our children.
Unfortunately the facts are different when it comes to child abuse and neglect.
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) "At least one in seven children experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year in the United States."
Even though this based on actual cases throughout the country; it does not include incidents, that were not reported.
Instead of quoting facts about abuse it is possible that you or someone you know has been hurt.
As parents, we need to not only educate our children, but to be trained in noticing the signs that a child may be neglected or abused.
Instead of giving you more facts; I implore you to share your pain, so that we can help others that are or will be suffering from this atrocity.
No matter where you live in the country, I am providing a link for you to help yourself and others that NEED it.
Prayers,
Mandie
“Protecting our children from the cruelty of the world doesn’t mean shielding them from the realities of the world. Tell them the truth. Teach them to care. Give them a voice. Prepare them not to withstand the world, but to change the world.”
