I am sure many of you have heard of Jelly Roll. I'll have to admit the words to this song, I can relate to. There are many days, I go by as if everything is perfect, well at least normal for me. The sad truth is, like in Jelly Roll's song, I've learned to hide it well.
The thing is, when I am helping someone turn their life around, it makes me feel better about my life. I realize I can't solve everyone's problems, but just helping one person, makes my life more bearable.
I feel that we are all looking for something...like what's our purpose. I feel that our purpose can evolve as we adapt and mature.
The reason for this post is to let you know that WE are not Okay, yet we move forward...searching our souls to discover what it is we are meant to be.
In order for us to accomplish our goal(s), we must practice and have discipline and belief in ourselves. Without belief, whats the sense of striving for more, I mean if we don't have that belief, then we are nothing. Even if you lack belief in yourself, find someone who will believe in you.
In order to attain that dream we need discipline in our mind and put forth the effort to go after our dreams.
We must and I mean must find our purpose and support team to get to where we want to go.
Many of you have heard the saying that "No man is an Island", I didn't understand it at first until I wanted to change bad enough and realized, I can't do it alone. I lacked discipline and belief, after time, I discovered how to get what I want.
We may not be okay, but remember we are not alone in our struggles. So if your barely getting by, seek out those who can assist you on your way.
I put the lyrics to Jelly Roll's song "I am not Okay", for you to read as well as a link on his picture to his video.
"I am not okay
I'm barely getting by I'm losing track of days And losing sleep at night I am not okay I'm hanging on the rails So if I say I'm fine Just know I learned to hide it wellI know, I can't be the only one
Who's holding on for dear life But God knows, I know When it's all said and done I'm not okay But it's all gonna be alright It's not okay But we're all gonna be alrightI woke up today
I almost stayed in bed Had the devil on my back And voices in my head Some days, it ain't all bad Some days, it all gets worse Some days, I swear I'm better off Layin' in that dirtI know, I can't be the only one
Who's holding on for dear life But God knows, I know When it's all said and done I'm not okay But it's all gonna be alright It's not okay But we're all gonna be alrightGonna be alright
Gonna be alrightI know one day
We'll see the other side The pain'll wash away In a holy water tide And we all gonna be alrightI know, I can't be the only one
Who's holding on for dear life But God knows, I know When it's all said and done I'm not okay But it's all gonna be alright It's not okay But we're all gonna be alright I'm not okay But it's all gonna be alright"
