Creating your path is difficult for most of us, but not impossible. I have found that these 7 steps to getting to where you want to be. When it comes to making positive changes in your life; this guideline has served me well on my voyage to recovery as well as anything I wish to accomplish.
1) Before I teach you the steps you will need to take, I want to mention INTENTION. Intention is the reason why you want to move from point A to point B or C. If you do not have a valid reason to become what you want, I recommend finding another goal. So this is your purpose statement.
2) So when carving your path you will need to provide a detailed idea or written plan on what you wish to accomplish. I included the words written because it allows you to focus and make plans on what it is you want to succeed at. If you do not have a written detailed plan, you will be wasting your time.
The reason for writing is to reflect on your journey and if you need to make any slight alterations to achieve your goal. Your goal could be almost anything you can conceive; for example, a happier relationship, money for retirement, travel around the world, or starting a business.
3) The next step is finding a vehicle to get you where you want to go. I am not talking about a Ferrari or sports car, but what you need to accomplish to get to your destination. If it's a business you may need start-up capital. If it's improving your relationship it may require counseling or input from others who can assist you on your journey. If it's retirement, you may need to look for creative guaranteed, or minimal-risk investments, with a decent return. Usually, goals require a monetary investment of some sort. It may also be time-intensive. Most goals require either time, money, or both.
4) The next step is an investment or continual effort, many of you have heard the saying "NO Pain, No Gain." without some sacrifice or commitment to your goal, it is just a lofty dream.
5) Belief is also a step into getting from Point A to Point B. If you doubt yourself, you will attempt shortcuts and make mistakes. Stick to the PLAN.
6) The next step is accountability, you need to hold yourself accountable for any errors as well as small successes. This one is often overlooked because we need to celebrate small successes and milestones.
7) The last step is Mastery, by that I mean people will seek you out for accomplishing your dream(s). At this point, you will be able to direct others in achieving what you have accomplished. This step concludes your training certifying your expertise. Meaning being the best that you can be and helping others achieve their dreams.
Prayers,
Mandie
